Lenses

We evaluate and stock the latest lens developments as well as the traditional ones. Come see us for invisible, no-line bifocals, plastic lenses, photochromatic lenses, customized fashion tinting, and much more.

Lens Materials - Thin & Light Lenses
New thinner, lighter high-index lens materials feel more comfortable and look more attractive than regular plastic or glass.

Polycarbonate Lenses - Impact Resistant Lenses
Polycarbonate offers up to 10 times the impact resistance of regular plastic. They're also thinner and lighter than plastic lenses. These lenses are highly recommended for all children's glasses.

Plastic Lenses
Much lighter than glass, but scratch more easily. To protect plastic lenses from everyday use, request scratch-resistant coating.

Lenses that darken in sunlight
Photosensitive lenses that change from light to dark when you go outdoors. Ask about Transitions plastic or PhotoGray Extra glass lenses.

Glass Lenses
Glass offers scratch-resistance, but is twice the weight of plastic.

Lens Design - Single Vision lenses
Offer vision correction for people who are nearsighted, farsighted, or need help with reading.

Aspheric
Lenses are flatter to look slimmer in frames. They also make eyes look more natural size. Aspheric lenses are available in single vision, bifocal, and progressive styles.

If you need bifocals:
Ask about the following lens options for treating presbyopia:
  • Bifocals
Offer near and distance vision, but no mid-range viewing.

  • Trifocals
Offer near, mid-range and distance vision in one pair of lenses.

  • Progressive "no line" lenses
Offer clear, continuous distance, mid-range and near vision, without aging segment lines. Ask about Varilux progressive lenses.
Special Treatments
  • Scratch protection
Protects lenses from scratches caused by everyday use. Scratches can look unattractive and can affect the optical quality of your lenses.

  • Anti-Reflection coating
Virtually eliminates distracting reflection off your glasses, enhancing your appearance and improving vision, especially at night.

  • Ultra-violet (UV) protection
Protects eyes against the harmful ultra-violet rays of the sun. Polycarbonate and most high-index lenses have built-in UV protection.

  • Tints and Coatings
Special tints and coatings can enhance your vision and appearance.
